Peter Arnstein’s executive consulting and coaching practice is built upon his career of over 30 years in strategic financial advisory, capital formation, and principal investing experience. Peter operated in a team environment working with business leaders and senior executives to execute strategic financings and major strategic moves such as acquisitions, divestitures and recapitalizations.
As an investment banker, Peter cultivated client relationships at Lehman Brothers and PaineWebber (now UBS) in New York, at First Union (now Wells Fargo) in Charlotte, North Carolina and at Mesirow Financial in Chicago. He was co-head of the mezzanine investment group at GATX Capital, making investments in industrial, consumer and service companies.
Peter is interested in and curious about the relationship of individuals to enterprises and how leadership can be cultivated throughout an organization. He is recognized for his talent for developing effective working relationships with a variety of people and for connecting people purposefully and productively.
To his clients Peter brings energy, professionalism, insight, creativity, thoughtfulness, a sense of mission, a results orientation and a sense of humor.
Peter earned a BA in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his certification as an Executive Coach from University of California Berkeley Executive Education and the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute.
Peter’s significant volunteer leadership duties provide meaningful experience and perspective to a coaching role. In addition, he intends to play ice hockey for as long as possible, to play guitar without clearing the room and to be able to land a punchline without blowing the joke.
